Cathodic corrosion protection is obtained by guaranteeing the required electrolyte potential using the impressed current produced by ACES devices. Maintenance of the correct potential is guaranteed by measuring the potential difference between the water heater and the titanium anode constantly, with a reading frequency measured in μs.
On the basis of the readings, the devices establish the impressed current intensity in the immediately subsequent full power stage.
This essential feature of the invention allows the use of a single anode that transmits the impressed current to the water and reads the potential.
An electronic device with advanced automatic operating logic whereby a titanium anode transmits impressed current to the electrolyte which thus assumes a protective potential that is transmitted in turn to the tank: the presence of this potential prevents ionic migration of the tank structure and protects enamelled and stainless steel hot water tanks from damage, in compliance with DIN 4753 part 3.
