Not a conventional protection method
The classic and widespread protection system for water heaters and storage tanks is composed of an internal tank coating in conjunction with the use of magnesium anodes.
Limitations of the classic protection system:
1 Passive protection with an internal coating is unreliable because flaws in the coating impair the effectiveness of protection, even if they are within the maximum limit permitted by DIN 4753 part 3 (7 cm2/m2).
2 ACES does not require any maintenance and periodic services leading to high overheads for the end user.
3Studies performed in major European universities have shown that ACES Titanium Anode prevents the development of Legionella bacteria with the associated serious infection and health risks.

Thanks to our long experience in cathodic protection we can confirm that the use of ACES on tanks of all types makes it possible to extend working life by at least 10 times; in more than 20 years of sales we have never had any claims or product returns due to faulty operation of our devices, which have consistently guaranteed the protection of the tanks on which they are installed.
Comprehensive studies conducted by top European universities have shown that the use of titanium anodes (like that used by CGR) prevents Legionella bacteria from developing in hot water tanks. This translates into massive benefits in terms of tank safety and, more importantly, health protection.
3 Zero maintenance: a huge plus compared to the classic magnesium anode, slashing periodic service costs.
Installing an ACES system means saving time and money for routine servicing. Just check that the green LED on the ACES case switches on when the unit is installed then forget about periodic functional checks and the cost of periodic services.
Classic magnesium anodes, in fact, must be replaced at intervals of around 2 years, with all the associated costs of calling out a technician and draining the tank:
